The Nefertiti Lift is an advanced technique that gives the visual effect of a “mini-lift” by contouring the jawline, neck, and corners of the mouth and gently re-draping the skin over the side of the jaw. Best of all, there’s no recovery time, no scars, no incisions and no need for anesthesia of any kind.

The Nefertiti Lift was originated and described by a Swiss dermatologist, Dr. Phillip Levy, in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in 2007. Dr. Levy’s technique utilized a series of precisely placed Botox injections to release the downward pull on the jawline, cheek, and neck by a muscle known as the platysma. The Nefertiti Lift is best for thinner people and not everyone is a candidate. As an advancement upon the original Nefertiti Lift Westport patients at Total Aesthetics are treated to today's newest injectable fillers. These new fillers better define the jawline and camouflage the jowl to create our own unique, enhanced version of the Nefertiti Lift.

Why Total Aesthetics is your best choice for a Nefertiti Lift?

Dr. O’Connell’s experience with Botox and fillers exceeds 30 years and he’s a greatly sought after and renowned injector. At Total Aesthetics, all Botox and fillers are personally injected by Dr. O’Connell – he does not utilize “nurse injectors”, physician assistants or other personnel.

By adding today’s fillers to the traditional Nefertiti Lift, Dr. O’Connell has updated and enhanced this technique resulting in a more defined and smooth jawline along with a more youthful shape to the lips – we call this the Volumized or Enhanced Nefertiti Lift.

What is the Nefertiti Lift recovery time?

Because the Nefertiti Lift is performed with Botox and fillers, there’s no real “recovery” to speak of. We do ask that you refrain from makeup and vigorous exercise for the remainder of the day.

Am I a candidate for the Nefertiti Lift?

The best patients for the Nefertiti Lift are women with mild to moderate cervical laxity who note disappearance of the mandibular border when contracting their platysma muscle, and without excessive fat along the jawline.

How do I prepare for a Nefertiti Lift?

To minimize the risk of bruising it’s best to refrain from use of aspirin as well as other medications and supplements, such as NSAID type medications (if permissible medically), for 7-10 days prior to your Nefertiti Lift.

What is the volumized or enhanced Nefertiti Lift?

Because some patients need more jawline definition than can be provided with only Botox, Westport Nefertiti Lift provider, Dr. O’Connell, has applied his unique creative talents to the Nefertiti Lift to create the Volumized or Enhanced Nefertiti Lift. This involves adding carefully chosen fillers to the jawline and sometimes areas around the mouth. Dr. O’Connell also combines Botox of the muscles of the chin and the muscles that pull down the corners of the mouth in his Enhanced Nefertiti Lift. The result is a more dramatic, but still natural, enhancement of jawline definition and perioral rejuvenation.

What is the Nefertiti Lift cost?

Because the Nefertiti Lift is a non-surgical procedure, costs are nominal. Pricing depends upon which particular filler, if any, is utilized. Otherwise the cost is determined solely as a Botox based procedure.

What are the Nefertiti Lift risks?

Like all aesthetic procedures, the Nefertiti Lift carries risk and potential side effects. These are largely the typical risks associated with Botox and fillers, however, in Dr. Levy’s series there were four treatment failures, two patients had mild dysphagia and two had smile incontinence (the latter adverse event was noted to be technique-dependent and potentially avoidable).
